Accomplishments
The purpose of this meeting was to determine the interest in developing a new multistate research (W) proposal. Attendees agreed to develop such a proposal and have tentatively titled it "Maintaining Resilient Sagebrush and Rural Communities." Attendees outlined each section of the proposal and made writing assignments with the intial drafts developed by October 13, 2017. The group proposes to meet November 7-9 in Boise, Idaho to both finalize the proposal and develop a conceptual framework to integrate ecology, sociology, and economics into the proposal. The new proposal will be submitted to the Western directors in December 2017. The group will reach out to other potential participants by January 2018 for participation in the new project, should it be approved.
