Basic Information

Participants

Accomplishments

The North Central Regional trial was carried out in Alberta, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin. It included clones from all programs in the region. There were 16 red selections, seven russets and 11 whites, along with four cultivar standards. Entries were evaluated at each site for maturity, specific gravity, yield, defects and disease incidence. These data were assembled in a report that was distributed at the meeting. Breeders continue to coordinate efforts to share families, parents, data, and ideas.

Impacts

  1. The North Central Regional Potato Variety Trial was carried out at five locations, providing production data for breeders and other scientists
  2. The National Verticillium Wilt Trial was carried out, providing data on resistance in advanced breeding selections.
