Deb Hamernik (Administrative Adviser) congratulated the group on successful renewal of a new five-year project. She also welcomed several new members to NC-2169.
Garry Auld provided a historical overview of NC-2169.
The Dietary Assessment and Behavior (DAB) provided an update and discussed ways that this group connects with related EFNEP workgroups focusing on the other EFNEP domains (PA, FRM, and FS). Leadership of the DAB consists of Karen Barale (Senior Co-Chair), Mary Kay Wardlaw (Co-Chair), and Linda Boeckner (Secretary). The DAB group has a teleconference on the third Thursday of the month at 1:00 (Eastern time).
The Quality of Life (QOL) workgroup provided an update. The longitudinal QOL pilot has been accepted by JNEB and EFNEP qualitative stories were resubmitted and under review at JOE. Leadership for the QOL group includes Sandy Proctor (Senior Co-Chair), Kate Yerxa (Co-Chair), and Maria Lambdia (Secretary). Dates for monthly teleconferences of the QOL group were established.
Dave Witherspoon described cost benefit and cost effectiveness analysis studies that he would like to do and asked that the group share data on BMI, BP, etc. with him.
Natalia, Susan Gills, and Erin Murray provided updates on their projects.
A "Procedural Guidelines Review" document was discussed and approved by the group.
A mid-year, electronic meeting will be held on April 4, 2014 from 11-2 (Eastern time). Karen Barale will coordinate the computer site.
The next annual meeting will be held October 9-11, 2014 in Las Vegas, NV.
Overall leadership for NC-2169 is provided by Garry Auld (Senior Co-Chair) and Nancy Betts (Co-Chair).
