Accomplishments
This committee is just getting underway, see minutes for more detail on expected outcomes. A summary:
Summary of Key Deliverables from the three work groups in NC506 (See attached proposal)
(a) An economic modeling (FAPRI) analysis of the impact of key energy policies on commodity prices, byproducts and land use.
(b) Report on the key local impacts associated with case studies of 6 to 10 Ethanol plants in the North Central Region.
(c) Report on the status of key production and use issues of DDGS in the North Central Region.
(d) A key deliverable from NC506 will be the development of priority long term regional proposals related to the bioeconomy.
Impacts
- An economic modeling (FAPRI) analysis of the impact of key energy policies on commodity prices, byproducts and land use is underway.
- A report on the key local impacts associated with case studies of 6 to 10 Ethanol plants in the North Central Region is being done.
- A report on the status of key production and use issues of DDGS in the North Central Region in being developed.
- NC506 will report to NCRA at our Experiment Station spring meeting in 2008 and to our new consortium NCBEC this summer in Lincoln, NE on July 17, 2007. NC506 will also have an opportunity to report to the Midwest Governors Energy Summit that NCBEC is coordinating in November, 2007.
