The reveiw and recommendations of the Animal Health Advisory Committee for the assigned projects was completed on a telephone conference call on January 22, 2007. The committee recommentdations were: NC_TEMP 1004 - approve with minor revisions NC_TEMP 1007 - approve with minor revisions Mid term review NC 229 - approve continuation with minor revisions/concerns NC 1019 - since the committee has not yet met discussion was deferred until the March meeting NCERA 47 - approved continuation The committee held its formal meeting in Washington, DC at the USDA, CSREES Waterfront Offices with representatives of the agency. Discussions included the President's proposed budget, the new Farm Bill, and the NRI grants program. NC 1019 was discussed and approved continuation with the suggestions that more attention needs to be paid to reporting. The meeting minutes are attached.

Accomplishments

The committee approved two project renewals, NC_TEMP 1004 and NC_TEMP 1007 and three mid term reviews NC 229, NC 1019 and NCERA 47 and provided the necessary written reports.
