Statement of Issues and Justification

Objectives

  1. Coordinate activities and set priorities among the experiment stations for the NCSS in the NCR.
  2. Identify and prioritize common needs for soil and landscape research by Major Land Resources Areas to foster cooperative research projects and minimize
  3. Provide the scientific foundation for databases needed for soil and landscape interpretations.
  4. Utilize the regional soil map as a basis for generation of regional interpretative maps related to selected soil and landscape properties.
  5. Develop and utilize new models and methods of presenting soil and landscape parameters and data and their relationship to surface and subsurface water
  6. Evaluate and use appropriate new technologies for characterization of soil properties and their spatial distribution on the landscape.
