The 63rd meeting of the Northeast Corn Improvement Conference was hosted by the organizations 2007-2008 President, Dr. Robert Kratochvil. As has become the custom every fourth year, this conference was a joint meeting of NEC029 and NCCC167, the Northcentral Corn Breeding Research Committee. This meeting was scheduled to precede the 50th Maize Genetics Conference held in Washington D.C. February 28 March 2 to allow those attendees at the Corn Improvement Conference to attend both events. There were 62 attendees (See Appendix A) at the Corn Improvement Conference with 37 representing NEC029, 21 representing NECCC167, and 4 representing other organizations. The two day Conference was highlighted by 10 oral presentations (See Appendix B) each in the categories of Crop Management and Breeding and Genetics. The Conference concluded with Business Meetings that were held separately by each organization.
