Brief Summary of Minutes
Accomplishments
ACTIVITIES:

Due to planning work of the Committee, a very successful meeting was held during the American Fisheries Society Annual Meeting in September of 2010.

The discussion held during this meeting allowed the group to develop a set of research theme areas and project research objectives. Goals built from the research interests of participants and their home state institutions.

This meeting also presented an opportunity for the group to plan for future collaborations.

OUTPUTS:

The Executive Committee and Research Team collaborated to produce a full, multi-state proposal as part of project, NC_temp1189. This project is meant to address the research objectives initially developed during the NCDC218 September 2010 meeting.Publications
Note: This NCDC 218 project was used for group project development and planning purposes. At the time of this report preparation (December 2010), there are no specific publications that have arisen directly as a result of the NCDC 218 project. However, the research team expects to have several publications come out of the anticipated work to be done as part of the currently proposed multi-state project (now named, NC_temp1189) that began development during this past year as a result of the NCDC meeting.Impact Statements
- As a development committee, the primary expected impacts are related to development of a multi-state project. This team has succeeded in preparation and submission of a multi-state proposal for an NC project (NC_temp1189).
- Involvement of additional investigators from across the region and nation interested in working together on research related to fisheries sustainability.
- Development of individual proposals to other funding institutions for various participants of the NCDC218/NC_temp1189 project.
