FLIGHT INFORMATION
United Airlines flies into Houghton/Hancock, Michigan (CMX is airport code) through Chicago O'Hare. This is the only option unless you want to drive ~ 2 hours from Marquette or Iron Mountain. You need to get on the flight that arrives at CMX at 12:47pm. Note- if you are arriving from west coast, you may want to fly into Chicago on 9/26 and spend the night there, then fly up to Houghton the morning of 9/27. If you are driving in, I suggest you might want to stay in northern Wisconsin Thursday night (Ashland if coming from MN would be nice, or Rhinelander or Eagle River (or the Kemp camp) if coming from Madison), and then drive up Friday morning. BOOK YOUR FLIGHT EARLY, like NOW. There is only one plane that comes in that day that you'll need to arrive, and its small. So it will fill. The alternative would be to come in sooner (but there than are literally no hotel rooms) or to fly into Marquette where you would stay Thursday night (9/26) and drive the 2 hours to Houghton the next morning.

HOTEL INFORMATION
There is a block of rooms reserved at the Quality Inn and Suites in downtown Houghton, with check-in available starting 9/27 (sorry they are booked and you can't come early, but you can stay longer). Its under the name W4001. Rate is $160/night. Must book before August 27. Call local number to reserve: 906-482-1400. Address is 215 Shelden Ave., Houghton, MI, 49931, US
OR, you can choose to fly out or stick around and have some fun. This should be peak foliage season and there is much to do in the local area. As we get closer I can provide some ideas. Or, if there is something you think you might want to do, just ask me and I can help point you in the direction. Some great options are: kayaking in Lake Superior, mountain biking in Copper Harbor (world famous), or historical mining/heritage tours, or a trip to Isle Royale National Park (the boat to get there leaves from Houghton, and this would be a splendid time of the year to go, except it might be chilly).
