Additional Info

Greetings All Former, New and Potential NECC 1812 members and friends,

It’s that time again! Our annual meeting is scheduled (as was listed in 2017 minutes) for Thursday, October 11 and Friday October 12, 2018 at the Laurel Villa (www.laurelvilla.com) in Milford, PA. This is a great little inn and restaurant with 1 double room, 8 singles and a suite with a bed and pull out couch. Rooms run from $110 to $150 a night. You would have to mention you are here with the soil testing group to obtain the small discount they provide our group. There are several other hotel options in Milford so finding a place to stay should not be a problem.

We can use one of their dining rooms as our meeting room. The UConn Soil Nutrient Analysis Lab will pick up the tab for the meeting room this year.

Dinner will be at the Laurel Villa on Thursday night (unless the group picks a different venue) and paid for individually. For new members, usually we have dinner as a group. Breakfast will be served Friday morning and is included in the room fee for folks staying at the Laurel Villa.

We need to create an agenda and attached is a first draft. Please feel free to jump in with topics you would like to share or to be discussed – add your items to the agenda and email back to Tom and Dawn. This is a great place to share information and ask questions.

Also attached is a format template for state reports. It’s great to fill these out and bring to the meetings to share, but please also send a copy to this year’s secretary for the record.

More information will follow as we get closer to our meeting. In the meantime, we are hoping all of you will consider attending and participating in this important venue. There have been many recent changes in personnel but, we as land-grant university soil testing labs and agronomists can attest, our goal has always been to provide the best soil fertility recommendations to our farmers and residents that we can.

Looking forward to seeing you soon,

Tom & Dawn
