A block of rooms have been reserved for the night of May 14 at the Crowne Plaza Aire, at the rate of $129.00+taxes/fees. <br />
<br />
Please call 800-227-6963 to reserve your room and reference Michigan State University when calling. Cut off date for special room rate is April 23, 2018.<br />
<br />
Room cancellation policy is by 6:00 pm the day before, otherwise you will be fully charged for the room. <br />
<br />
There will be a participant fee of approximately $105.00, this is a total fee for both days. Please look for future communications to advise when and how to pay this fee.<br />
<br />
The closest airport to the Crowne Plaza Aire is Minneapolis-St. Paul International (MSP). The Crowne Plaza offers 24 hour shuttle service to/from MSP.<br />

Multistate Research Project NC1206 (Antimicrobial Resistance)<br />
Objectives<br />
1) Enhance surveillance and monitoring of antibiotic resistance and develop improved diagnostic tests.<br />
2) Determine the ecology and mechanisms involved in resistance and transmission of resistance.<br />
3) Develop and evaluate interventions (including alternatives to antibiotics) that reduce antimicrobial resistance in food production systems.<br />
4) Quantify animal health, public health, social, economic, and environmental impacts of antimicrobial interventions in food production systems.<br />
5) Create and deliver programs on antibiotic stewardship in food production systems through education and outreach.<br />
