Accomplishments

NECC063 meets semi-annually in a conference setting that provides an excellent forum for the exchange of ideas relating to commodity promotion research among participants. The conference participants always include a good mixture of university researchers, government officials and private sector practitioners. The October 12-13, 2006 conference held in Auburn, Alabama was titled "New Research in Producer Checkoff-Funded Activties, Including Export Promotion." The first day of the conference included three research paper sessions on (1) price promotion, (2) non-price promotion and (3) export promotion. The second day included a round table discussion on the role and status of promotion research and a business meeting of the technical committee.
