Accomplishments

The SERA35 group engaged in formal presentation and discussion of current farm management research and extension activities in each of the states represented.  Formal topics of discussion included: conservation incentive programs, cropland values, soybean production costs, rice foundation seed sales, row rice production, crop insurance and the 2017 Census of Agriculture.

Impacts

  1. The basic goal of this activity is to foster increased communication and collaboration among agricultural economists in the mid-South working in the area of farm management. Impacts of this effort result in better information and analysis of issues impacting farm finances being made available to producer clientele groups in the region.
