Activities: Cooperative work between all participants in grazing research Compost management work between Rutgers, University of Massachusetts, University of Florida, and South Dakota State University
Impacts
- Compost management: Improved understanding of compost technologies for horse manure and the production of a compost course for uses by on-farm composters.
- The promotion and adoption of heavy use area pads in sacrifice or resting lots are being adopted by producers because some of the work completed.
- Producers have more and better choices in hay feeder design for the reduction of waste in feeding areas.
- Pasture research with different management schemes and grass mixes is giving producers more and better options for different management.
