Accomplishments
We accomplished the following:
1. Developed the NCR-203 website. The committee agreed on the structure, introductory page with links to members, past minutes, original proposal, and content areas.
2. Decisions were made regarding website design, structure for the overview comprehensive annotated bibliography, resources and related links.
3. A draft annotated bibliography for "Quality of Rural Life" has been posted to the website.
4. A draft bibliography for "Nonformal and Formal Education" has been posted to the website.
5. Sub-committee assignments were made for developing one-page concept papers for the following areas: a) Outmigration and its Impact on the Quality of Rural Schools and Life; b) Impact of Technology on the Quality of Rural Schools and Life; c) Impact of Rural and Urban Interface on the Quality of Rural Schools and Life.
Plans for activities over the next year involve developing the one-page concept papers and presenting them at our next meeting, continuing to pursue the idea of doing a symposium with the Southern Rural Development Center, and submit the materials for the annotated bibliographies for posting to the website.
