IEG-13 Meeting
University Statisticians of Southern Experiment Stations (USSES)
July 16 - 18, 2003
The 2003 USSES meeting was held at SAS Institute, Inc. in Cary, NC. The meeting started with an informal reception on Wednesday evening, July 16. The Thursday session on July 17 began with a welcome from Herbert Kirk, Vice President of Education at SAS Institute.
The technical sessions on Thursday consisted of presentations by Oliver Schabenberger (SAS Institute) on Linear and Nonlinear Mixed Model Applications (SAS Institute), Tzu Ming Chu (SAS Institute) on Mixed Models for Microarrays, and Arnold Saxton (Tennessee) on AStatistical Analysis of Microarray Data. The day ended with a mixer and dinner at the Angus Barn in Raleigh, NC.
The technical sessions continued on Friday morning with presentations by Spencer Muse (N. C. State) on Statistics on Comparative Genomics and Bob Rodriquez (SAS Institute) on Developments in SAS Version 9.1".
The business meeting was chaired by Glenn Ware (Georgia). It started with an announcement that the current IEG-13 expires this year and will have to be renewed. Barry Moser (LSU), Hoke Hill (Clemson), and Arnold Saxton (Tennessee) agreed to work with Glenn in preparing the project document for submittal to USSES= administrative advisor, Kenneth Koonce (LSU). Ramon Littell (Florida) agreed to host the 2004 USSES meeting. The meeting ended with station reports.
