I recommend that you consider grabbing a rideshare up to Dover (10 minutes) or Portsmouth (20 minutes) where the restaurant scene is much more extensive. There are three options of getting to campus. <br /> <br /> (1) If you are flying<br /> Four airports serve Durham, but the closest airport has the fewest flights, and the airport with the most flights is the farthest away.<br /> <br /> a. Boston Logan (BOS) 74 miles Most flight options; best ground-transport connections<br /> Flying into Boston Logan. This is the most practical option for most participants, and there is a direct bus. C&J Bus Lines serves all Logan terminals — A, B1, B2, C, and E — with departures every 30 minutes to Portsmouth, Seabrook, and Dover. The fare are $27 each way, and the Logan-to-Dover trip takes roughly 1 hour 46 minutes. Reservations are required, and C&J asks that you arrive at the terminal at least 20 minutes before departure. Scheduled times are keyed to Terminal A, and moving between terminals can take 15 to 20 minutes depending on traffic. From the Dover stop, Durham is a short taxi or rideshare ride — roughly 10 miles.<br /> <br /> b. Portsmouth International at Pease (PSM) ~10 miles; about 10.1 driving miles, roughly 27 minutes Closest by far. Limited commercial service — Allegiant only<br /> <br /> c. Manchester-Boston Regional (MHT) 39 miles New Hampshire's primary commercial hub. No public transit connection to Durham — plan on a rental car or rideshare<br /> <br /> Flying into Manchester or Portsmouth. Rent a car. Neither airport has a practical transit connection to Durham, and rideshare availability at PSM is thin.<br /> <br /> (2) If you are taking the train<br /> This is the method of arrival that has the most direct public transportation to Durham. The Amtrak Downeaster stops at the Durham–UNH station, which is about a 20-minute walk from the hotel. <br /> <br /> If traveling from south of Boston, there would need to be a short walk or rideshare/taxi to the station that goes to Durham. Alternatively, travelers coming from South Station on other Amtrak services can simply reserve and take the C&J bus instead (see above), which is often the simpler choice.<br /> <br /> (3) If you are driving<br /> Set your navigation to 2 Main Street, Durham, NH 03824. There is complimentary parking at the hotel. <br /> <br /> Hotel: Holiday Inn Express, Durham (https://www.guestreservations.com/holiday-inn-express-durham/booking) for the duration of the meeting. An alternative option in Durham is the Thompson Inn (https://www.threechimneysinn.com/), or you can look to nearby towns of Dover or Portsmouth, but they will require a rideshare or rental to come to campus.<br /> <br /> Meeting space: the meeting will be held at the Spaulding Life Sciences Building, 38 Academic Way, Durham, NH 03824. It is approximately a 20 minute walk through downtown Durham and campus, which will provide an opportunity to see the area and university. Once you reach the building, please go to the second floor, room 228.
