Project meeting will coincide with the Society of American Forester’s national convention in Loveland, CO (9/17 to 9/20). Project team leads will also host a panel on the topic of “Discussing Gaps Between University and Government Agency Use and Maintenance of Long-Term Research Monitoring Sites” on 9/19. This fits within focus area #4 (“Existing networks for forest health and resilience research and information sharing”) of the approved S1091 project. The panel currently includes Linda Nagel (Utah State Univ.), Lauren Pile (USFS), and Reed Van Beveren (Innovative Policy Group), and engagement with the panel will help promote the S1091 project and encourage additional participation in it. There is time in the convention schedule for SAF committees and other teams to meet and conduct business, and our project team meeting is scheduled accordingly to occur the morning of day 3 of the convention (9/19).
