IMPACT MATTERS: Why Impact Reporting Matters and How To Do It Better<br />

Instructor: Sara Delheimer (sara.delheimer@colostate.edu) <br />
Program Coordinator and Impact Writer for the Multistate Research Fund Impacts Program (www.mrfimpacts.org). Ms. Delheimer creates impact statements and other communications pieces about multistate research projects and shares them through traditional and social media. She previously worked as a science writer for the National Park Service and has a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Environmental Issues from the University of Tennessee.<br />

Workshop overview: Increasingly, research and Extension faculty and program leaders are called upon to articulate the impact of their programs and activities. Impact statements demonstrate the value of projects and programs to stakeholders, funding agencies, and the general public. This Impact Writing Workshop helps participants understand why impact reporting matters and how to do it well. In particular, this workshop helps members of Hatch Multistate projects understand how to share their impacts in the required annual and termination reports.<br />
