Attached is the registration form for the upcoming WERA 1014 and Northwest Forage Workers Annual Meeting. Per previous emails, the dates for the meeting have been set for July 27 and 28 with Steve Fransen and Steve Norberg hosting us at the research station in Prosser, Washington. The first day (27th) will be for presentations, discussions, etc. at the research station. On the morning of the second day (28th), they are working on a nice tour that will concentrate on grazing and irrigated pasture/hay production. Part of this year’s meeting will be to honor Glenn Shewmaker (already retired) and Mylen Bohle (retiring at end of July) who both have contributed significantly to this group over the years. <br /> For those arriving Monday, there will be a BBQ that evening in honor of Mylen and Glenn. Breakfast will be provided by the motel and Steve will provide lunches, snacks, and an evening meal on Tuesday. There will be a tour on Wednesday morning and we hope to be done shortly after lunch so everyone can make it home that afternoon. <br /> <br /> For rooms, you can call 509-786-7977 to book directly. Just tell the Front Desk that you want to book a room from a group block on those dates, the Group Name is “Forage & WSARE Group”. The Front Desk will know what to do from there. Choose the dates, and just continue on booking like any other online hotel booking. Steve doesn’t think anyone will be disappointed with their food or lodging accommodations. If you fly in, Steve said he could definitely provide transportation to and from the airport, so no need to rent a car. <br /> <br /> The host institution generally handles the registrations but Steve says their financial system is a mess and difficult to work with, so Joe is going to take the registrations and pass on to Steve. If you are paying with cash or check, you are welcome to mail it to the address on the form or you can just pay Joe at the meeting. If you would rather pay by credit card, please call Joe's cell that was provided in a separate email correspondence. So we have an accurate account of who is coming, please email a copy of your registration to Joe by July 21st.<br /> <br /> Although this is a busy time of year, it will be good to get together.
