Additional Info

The NE1640 meeting will begin on Thursday morning, October 19 and end at noon on Friday, October 20, 2017, with hotel room availability on the night of Wed. Oct 18 and Thur. Oct. 19th.

Rhode Island will be hosting the NE1640 multistate research meeting at The Viking Hotel in Newport, RI. We will meet in the hotel’s conference facilities, on-site.

Newport is in high demand in October but I was able to get a discounted rate of $199 plus tax at the Viking (the standard rate at this time of year is $300). It’s a beautiful old hotel that they have been remodeling slowly over the past few years. Nematology multistate meetings have been held there previously, many years ago. Because of it’s location in the middle of Newport, valet parking is the only option available so please be aware of this when you arrive.

At this time, guests may call 800.556.7126 and reference the URI Multistate Nematode Meeting to make their reservations at the group rate. They may also book directly online below:

https://gc.synxis.com/rez.aspx?Hotel=29021&Chain=8708&shell=GCF_2&arrive=10/18/2017&depart=10/20/2017&adult=2&child=0&group=1K85QX

The cutoff date to make reservations is September 18, 2017.

If you are flying in, T.F. Green Airport in Providence (Warwick) is the closest airport and the bridge into Newport does have a hefty toll of $4 so be prepared!
