Southern Region Agronomy Department Heads:<br /> <br /> This is a reminder that the next meeting of SAC-1 (Southern Region Agronomy Department Heads) will take place May 17-19 at Auburn University. Plan to arrive on May 17 and depart after lunch on Friday, May 19. The meeting sessions will be all day on May 18 and the morning of May 19.<br /> <br /> Room reservations can be made at The Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center. Room rate is $129/night plus tax. Cut-off date for reserving a room is April 15. Please tell the reservation desk you are with the Southern Region Agronomy Department Heads. The web site for the AU Hotel is: http://www.auhcc.com/<br /> <br /> The phone number for reservations is: 334-821-8200. The hotel is right across the street from the AU campus and the College of Agriculture.<br /> <br /> In regards to travel to Auburn, the physical address of the hotel is 241 South College Street, Auburn, AL 36830. For those driving to Auburn, if you take Exit 51 off I-85 (US 29 and College Street) you travel about 3.5 miles north and the hotel is on your right. For those flying in, you can fly to Atlanta or Montgomery. Atlanta is easier plus the Groome Shuttle (http://auburn.groometransportation.com/) has 17 trips per day from the Atlanta airport to Auburn with a stop at the AU Hotel. Allow about 1.5 hours from ATL to AU.<br /> <br /> I will be sending a detailed agenda later. For now, go ahead and be making hotel and travel arrangements.
