Location: Historic Hotel Colorado located in Glenwood Springs, CO (http://www.hotelcolorado.com/). The hotel opened in 1893 and is famous for, among other things, Glenwood Hot Springs across the street from the hotel. The city of Glenwood Springs has a good assortment of restaurants and sits at the mouth of Glenwood Canyon (http://www.visitglenwood.com/things-to-do/glenwood-canyon) and is at the confluence of the Colorado and Roaring Fork Rivers. There are excellent hiking and fishing opportunities nearby.
Accommodations: We have reserved a block of 50 rooms for the nights of October 5 and 6 and another 20 for the night of October 7. Room rates are quite good for that hotel since our meeting falls between summer season and ski season. To book a room, please call the Hotel Colorado’s toll free number (1-800-544-3998). The room rate is $89/night and the group is the Colorado Department of Agriculture October 5th-8th.

Transportation: Glenwood Springs is located on Interstate 70 about 160 miles west of Denver. The nearest large airport is Denver International, 181 miles away. There are several closer regional airports including Eagle County Regional Airport (27 miles), Aspen-Pitkin Regional Airport (37 miles) and Grand Junction Regional Airport (87 miles). The Colorado Department of Agriculture’s Biocontrol Program is located in Palisade, CO near the Grand Junction airport which means that we can assist with transportation for those flying in to Grand Junction.

Meeting agenda: The agenda will be similar to those of previous years. If you have an idea for a short session or a presentation please contact me (see below). Also, if you would like to schedule consortium or other group meetings (i.e. Russian olive or toadflaxes) please let me know and we can make sure it’s part of the final agenda.
Additional Information: We’ll send out a more detailed venue description and a tentative agenda in early June.
