Considerations:
Secretary: If you are interested in serving as Secretary for the 2016-2017 year please email Dara Park at darap@clemson.edu. The Secretary will become Vice President 2017-2018, and President during 2018-2019.

Members of the 5-year Proposal Writing Team: To continue this group, a new 5-year proposal will need to be developed and submitted to USDA in 2018. Because we will not meet next year (the group does not meet in years that the International Turfgrass Society Meeting convenes), a writing team needs to be determined now. The team will meet briefly on Thursday from 12:00- 1:00. If you are interested in serving on the team, please email Dara Park at darap@clemson.edu.

Proposal/Project Topics for Thursday Breakout Session The Thursday morning collaboration break out session is to give those interested in collaborating to develop multi-state projects / grant proposals a time and place to discuss and organize. If you have an idea for a grant proposal / project, please email Dara Park at darap@clemson.edu the title and a brief summary (150 words max) by May 15th. I have not received any topics to date. This is very important and was asked for by members last year.

State Reports: Please find attached the State Report Template that needs to be filled out by each state’s representative. Please email your report directly to Ben Wherley at b-wherley@tamu.edu by June 1st.

Please do not forget that there should be money available from you Extension Directors to send one representative to the meeting.

Airport:
The closest airport is Pensacola International Airport (PNS) which is ~28 miles from the hotel. Southwest Airlines serves Pensacola. Mobile, AL airport is about 1:20 and does not have Southwest. Dave recommends to use Pensacola, especially if you intend to go to the field day, since Jay, Fl is on the other side of Pensacola from Orange Beach, AL.

Feel free to forward this email to any faculty that you think may be interested in the meeting. If they did not receive the email, please ask them to send me an email so I can make sure they receive future correspondence.

If you have questions or comments please feel free to call or email.

Looking forward to seeing you all in a few months,
