ENHANCING PRODUCTION AND REPRODUCTIVE
PERFORMANCE OF HEAT-STRESSED DAIRY CATTLE


OBJECTIVES:

1. To further elucidate direct and indirect effects of chronic heat stress in a hot, humid climate on nutrient intake and metabolism, endocrine status, and reproductive and lactational performance of dairy cattle.
2. To develop physiological, nutritional and environmental strategies to enhance milk production, reproductive performance, profitability and heat tolerance of dairy cattle in a hot, humid climate.
